A curious beginning

Born in Korea, I grew up fascinated by both the stars above and the world within. I studied Earth Science, spent over twenty years in Europe and America, and traveled widely with my sketchbooks and paints always by my side.

A dream that never faded

As a child, I dreamed of becoming a painter, but was encouraged to pursue a more “practical” path. Even so, I never stopped painting. In my 60s, that lifelong devotion was recognized when I became an invited member of the Seoul Art Association and a recommended artist for the Korea Grand Art Exhibition.

What my work holds

My paintings embody this journey: cosmic skies above steep, snow-covered mountains, where auroras rise like hope above darkness. These works are not just landscapes, but reflections of resilience, struggle, and renewal.

The process

My approach to painting mirrors the rhythms of life itself. I layer, erase, and repaint light and shadow over and over again. Each repetition deepens the texture of the work, like memories overlapping across time. This process allows stories of wounds, endurance, and healing to emerge—sometimes hidden, sometimes glowing, always alive within the canvas.

The void within us

The void is never empty—it holds our inner universe. My art is an invitation to pause, breathe, and discover that quiet cosmos within yourself.
